It’s not enough that Nintendo’s 3DS XL is the number one selling console across the United States, beating out the Xbox 360 which had a years-long reign at the top. It’s not enough that there are excellent releases coming out for the handheld later this year including Pokemon X & Y, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and much more. It’s certainly not enough that North America already has the blue, red and pink 3DS XLs in the continent.

Because Nintendo has announced that it’ll be releasing a black 3DS XL on August 11th. To make things even more awesome, it will be launching on the same day Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. and retail for $200.

Will this be the decisive blow for the 3DS XL to win the war in North America? Will it be the beginning of the end of the PlayStation Vita (again)? Or will it just be a new colour for the 3DS XL? Find out, next week, when it premieres.
