Two brand new trailers debuted earlier today at Nintendo’s Nintendo Direct presentation, a platform off which Nintendo releases teaser tidbits about their upcoming projects.

The two games previewed, Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright and Metal Max 4, were both given very short spots. Revealing little to nothing about the storyline and game play of the upcoming titles. But graphics wise, they sure look slick.

Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright, a crossover game of the Professor Layton puzzle series and the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series, was released in Japan for the 3DS in 2012 to tepid reviews, saying that it didn’t live up to the potential it had as an epic crossover title. We can expect the North America release to hit shelves some time in early 2014.

The Metal Max 4 trailer reveals essentially nothing about the upcoming game, but does however deliver some stunning animation and music complete with a touch of emotional crescendo. The Metal Max series has a storied and rich history dating all the back to the Nintendo Famicon in 1991.
