Reports have been going around lately that Nintendo may have had some sort of a security breach, and while we don’t yet know the full extent of how serious it is, many have said that they have bee notified of unauthorized logins on their Nintendo Switch accounts.

In a recent statement to VGC, Nintendo responded to and acknowledged these reports, stating that they are investigating the same. “We are aware of reports of unauthorized access to some Nintendo Accounts and we are investigating the situation,” the company said.

Nintendo has advised Switch users to enable 2FA (two step verification) on their accounts (you can do that through here), or to the account recovery process (head on over here) if you’ve been blocked out of your Switch account as a result of an unauthorized login.

It is, of course, always a good idea to have two step verification enabled on all your accounts, but it might be doubly smart to do so on your Switch accounts right now, just to be safe.
