Looks like Nintendo has incredible brand cachet in the United States. According to a study done by Reputation Institute, Nintendo is the ninth most reputable company in the country, out now over 2,200 companies studied.
It is the only gaming company to show up in the top ten. Even if Sony and Microsoft were considered as larger technology companies, neither shows up in the top ten.
The top company is Netflix (now can we have Netflix on Switch? The most reputable company’s service on the most reputable gaming company’s charismatic console, please?), having jumped 23 spots since last year. The whole top 10 is largely new relative to last year, with only two companies having retained their standing since last year, and others having dropped off.
It’s interesting that Amazon and Nike, which were #1 and #2 last year, aren’t in the top 10 (neither are in the top 50), while Google is not even in the top 100—will people trust it to handle Stadia well then, I wonder?
