Complaints about the Wii U having a slow, sluggish and unresponsive operating system have been amok ever since the console’s November release, and Nintendo has acknowledged these complaints.

Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has now even told Japanese publication The Nikkei that Nintendo is going to improve the OS soon, however he gave no details of a patch or an update, or even an ETA on the several fixes that will be necessary.

“Setting aside the dissatisfaction some purchasers have with start-up and software change speeds, which we will improve,” he said. This is good news, of course, and it’s good to know that Nintendo isn’t ignoring the issues. A more concrete date for the supposed fix would have been nice though.

Have you been experiencing any issues with the Wii U’s OS? Tell us in the comments section below, and stay tuned for more info.
