Just what exactly is the Nintendo NX? We know it’s a new gaming platform coming from Nintendo some time within the next year or so, but beyond that, it remains a total and complete enigma, some educated guesswork and speculation notwithstanding.
But surely people who are actually working on the system have a better idea of what it is, right? Surely they can tell us what insane wizardry Nintendo have planned for us this time around? As it turns out- no, not really. According to the LinkedIn profile of one Steven Chith (via GoNintendo) Nintendo are being so secretive about the NX that even he has no idea what it is- and he has been working on it for over a year, now!
“I’m currently working on Nintendo’s next console, code named “NX”,” he says. “It’s so secretive that sometimes even I don’t know what I’m working on. Suffice to say, I’m primarily doing embedded system development.”
That’s actually amazing, and it may be one of the reasons that Nintendo has managed to keep everything about the NX so unnaturally quiet so far.
Just what is the NX? Hopefully we will find out soon enough, when Nintendo themselves tell us.
