The little console that could.

Today, Nintendo released some interesting and honestly, rather surprising sale figures. There struggling 8th generation home console, the Wii U has finally stepped over the threshold of the 7 Million units sold mark. That means, in the last six months they have managed to sell 1.12 Million in the last six months alone bring their total figure to just over 7.29 Million sold consoles. Couple this with the 41.67 Million games that have been sold and I think we may need to stop calling the Wii U a struggling platform.

On the other end of the spectrum, the 3DS is (as usual) doing gangbusters and is still selling like hot bread. Now having sold 45.42 Million units, the figures are boosted when you factor in that amount of people that bought it purely for Super Smash Bros. which has sold 3.22 Million units since launching in September.

Personally being a huge fan of Nintendo, I like to think of this as the salt in the wounds of haters.
