With Nintendo, you just never know what is going to happen. For years, the company has been subverting expectations with both their hardware and software, making them one of the most frustrating, beloved and just plain odd companies all rolled into one big package. And one thing that encompasses that so well is the Jump Rope Challenge.

Completely out of nowhere, Nintendo has released Jump Rope Challenge for the Nintendo Switch. The game is a very small and simple title that was actually put together by developers who were trying to stay fit at home during the pandemic. You use Joycons to simulate jumping rope, and can even do it with a friend. It’s basic, but not bad.

Jump Rope Challenge will be free on the Switch until September. No word on what the game will cost after that, but you have plenty of time to claim it. You can check out the listing through here.
