Nintendo Switch and Everybody’s Golf Top Japanese Sales Charts

Switch, 3DS, and PS4 holding steady.

The newest weekly Media Create Sales chart for Japan are out, and yet again, the Nintendo Switch has managed to top them, with 50,000 units sold. The Switch came in ahead of the PS4, which narrowly (and I mean ‘by less than 100 units’ narrowly) edged out the Nintendo 3DS for second place.

On the software front, Everybody’s Golf for the PS4 topped charts with almost 101,000 units sold last week. Splatoon 2 continued to hold on to its second place position, with 52,000 units sold. The 3DS exclusive new debutant Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2, the Switch port of Monster Hunter XX, and the 3DS version of Dragon Quest 11 rounded out the top five.

In general, the Switch seems to be doing great- every single major release it has had since launch, from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to even ARMS, is still holding steady and regularly charting in the top 20 software charts. With the PS4 performing well as well, hopefully this indicates a sustained revival of the Japanese console industry going forward.
