Nintendo Switch Cartridges Taste Awful To Prevent Kids From Putting Them In Their Mouths

So... that's a thing.

Posted By | On 02nd, Mar. 2017

Nintendo Switch cartridges are hilariously tiny- we’re actually looking at something that’s a PS Vita cartridge sized thing here. And while we can all marvel at the engineering that must have gone into making something like this happen and everything, Nintendo, it seems was more worried about something far more practical- what if a little kid puts the cartridge in their mouth, and accidentally swallows it?

In true Nintendo fashion, they have come up with a solution to this problem. This solution is- the cartridges taste like shit. They’re bitter as heck, and that means that if a kid tries to put one in his or her mouth, they will hate the taste enough to spit it out right away, and also never to put it in their mouth again. Nintendo has confirmed as much to Polygon in a statement.

I never thought this would be news I would be covering.
