Nintendo has released a brand new firmware update for the Switch – update 2.3.0 – which you can now download and install to your system. If you’ve left your system in Sleep Mode, the update is probably already downloaded, and just waiting for you to authorize the installation. If you haven’t, well, it downloads pretty quickly, so it shouldn’t take you too long to get it out of the way anyway.
As for what this update does… *sigh*… you know what it does. It’s a stability update. Nintendo only says that this update brings “general system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience”, which is probably their way of saying that some potential backdoor exploits, as well as some as yet undiscovered bugs and glitches, have been addressed by this update.
No problems have been reported, either, so go ahead and install it. If we learn more about what specifically has been changed by this update, we will be sure to let you know.
