Nintendo Switch is Now the Fastest Selling Console of All Time in Italy

The Switch continues to break records and sell at an unprecedented pace in not jut Japan and North America, which have traditionally been strong territories for Nintendo, but all around the world. For instance, in Europe, we already know it is doing well in Spain, France, and Germany- now we can add Italy to that list, too.

Nintendo announced today that the Switch has become the fastest selling console of all time in Italy, overtaking the previous record holder- ironically, the Wii, Nintendo’s own motion controlled console which burst on to the spotlight a decade ago.

Nintendo Italy General Manager Andrea Persegati attributed the success to a built in lineup of outstanding games, as well as an exciting lineup planned for the rest of this year, which includes first and third party games- the big question now is whether or not Nintendo will be able to sustain this kind of success going forward. Unless they announce something major in a Nintendo Direct soon, I don’t know how they plan to sell their system at the same pace…
