Nintendo Will Show New Switch “Experience” On September 12

It seems like fitness based games may be making a comeback or... something.

One of the best, and also maybe one of the most frustrating, things about Nintendo is they do their own thing no matter what. While they may latch on to certain trends, like with VR, even then it’s something they manage to put their own weird twist on. Next week, it looks like they’ll have another distinctly Nintendo thing to show.

In a… teaser, I guess, Nintendo shows a first look at a new “experience.” As you can see below, it appears to be some rubber, stretchy ring that has a number of ways to use your Switch’s JoyCons with. The video features people doing various activities with the ring, though we won’t get to see what’s on the screen until September 12th.

The video invokes some of the fitness based games of the Wii era, such as Wii Fit, so it’s very possible we’re going to see a return of that brand, or something similar, even if not a literal Switch Fit. Nintendo also published Fitness Boxing earlier in the year, so that type of game is something they’ll still looking to pursue. We’ll see, come September 12th.
