Nintendo Will Showcase ‘More Ways To Enjoy Nintendo Switch’ Next Year

Making another Switch, Nintendo?

Posted By | On 31st, Oct. 2017

The Switch has been a wild success, with its simple, stark central message of playing games when you want, where you want, and how you want, resonating with a generation of millennials who have an active, mobile lifestyle.

A surprising amount of Switch’s success has been because of the variety of ways it enables playing games- as a handheld and as a console, sure, but the tabletop mode, and the possibility for spontaneous multiplayer, have been surprisingly successful, too.

Now, Nintendo is hinting that there may be “more ways to enjoy Switch” that it will be announcing soon- next year, in fact. Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima stated at the investors meeting for the quarter ended on September 30 that Nintendo will be announcing new ways to enjoy Switch in 2018. This could mean anything, from new games, to new peripherals, to new functionality- since this is Nintendo, it might even mean all three.

As for what these new ways to play might be- perhaps the patented Switch VR headset?
