Nintendo’s Upcoming ARMS May Support Up To 8 Players In Local And Online Multiplayer Modes

Free for all!

ARMS is the next big Nintendo Switch release, but surprisingly little is known about it at this point. Nintendo are fairly open about revealing new characters and gameplay footage for the game, but we don’t actually know much of anything else about the game- which can maybe make the prospect of spending $60 on an untested new IP daunting, especially one with a premise as unusual as ARMS‘s is.

However, today, we may have learned a bit more about the game’s planned modes- spotted by Reddit user falcodab123, the Australian Nintendo eShop claims that the multiplayer modes in the game support 2-8 players. Which is interesting, because we’ve only ever seen 1v1 so far, suggesting that some sort of free for all, or tag team modes, may be in the final product.

The 8 player multiplayer modes are apparently supported both locally, wirelessly, as well as online, according to the eShop listing. You can check out a photo of it (again, courtesy of falcodab123) for yourself below.

ARMS is due out exclusively on the Nintendo Switch in June.
