No Man’s Sky has set yet another record, albeit this is probably not one that Hello Games will be particularly proud of. In a testament to just how terribly wrong the game’s pre-release hype cycle has backfired on it, No Man’s Sky is now one of the lowest rated games on Steam.
Since release, a total of 71,000 plus reviews have been posted for the game on Steam, and less than 32% of them are positive. That’s pretty damning all on its own, but it becomes even direr when recent reviews are considered exclusively- 5,000 reviews have been published for No Man’s Sky on Steam in the last month, but only 12% of them are positive.
A lot of the ire that people have towards the game seems to be directed more at Sean Murray, one of the developers for the game, who was extremely loudspoken about the game and its potential in the lead up to its release. Murray has been incognito ever since shortly after the launch of the game, and his social media accounts have gone dark. Apparently, a lot of players don’t appreciate this lack of communication.
No Man’s Sky is currently available on PS4 and PC.
