Ocarina of Time 3DS getting limited initial release?

Posted By | On 02nd, May. 2011

Due to concerns of overstocking the title, Nintendo will supposedly print a limited initial run of the upcoming 3DS remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Japanese news outlet, Sinobi, reports that early shipments of 3DS’ biggest game yet will be “extremely small”, with Nintendo assigning set unit allocations to retailers regardless of their size. It’s unspecific on region, but presumably refers only to Japan.

It also reports that Nintendo won’t be allowing retailers to order extra units. Sinobi speculates that this is because Nintendo aims to avoid overstocking the title as it did with Zelda: Spirit Tracks on DS.
