Outlast Developer Posts Mysterious Teaser Promising End Of Freedom

A grainy picture possibly points at more Outlast.

The Outlast games managed to jump start a whole new subgenre of video game horror. The original game and its sequel began a trend of hide and seek based gameplay battling unkillable stalker enemies that’s been emulated by tons of game since, especially on the indie scene. And now the developers behind it, Red Barrels, are teasing something.

They posted the below image on their various social media sites. It doesn’t say much, but it has the same grainy look and color scheme of the Outlast games’ posters and covers and promises the end of freedom. It’ll likely be related to an announcement of an Outlast 3.

Outlast 1 and 2 are available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. Outlast 2 will also be free on the PlayStation 4 starting next month via PlayStation Plus, which you can read more about here. We’ll keep you updated on whatever this new project will be when more details emerge.
