Events and conferences getting cancelled to to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is a reality that we’ve all had to expect, and it’s likely going to continue for some time to come. Most, if not all, major upcoming gaming events for the next few months have already either been cancelled or shifted to a digital format, and the latest to follow suit is Paris Games Week.
Paris Games Week, would would have held its tenth show from October 23rd to 27th this year, has been cancelled for 2020, the event’s organizing committee recently announced. They cite “current context and the necessary anticipation of both the technical and logistical complexities” as reasons for the event’s cancellation, which really isn’t hard to understand or sympathize with, given the current situation.
In their message, they say that being the 10th anniversary of the show, PGW 2020 was going to be a “special” event, and that it would have featured “a line-up full of new releases.”
“We are going to work with all the industry players to enable us all to live our passion,” the update reads in conclusion. “We are already preparing next year’s edition and are looking forward to seeing you again.”
