Payday 2 on Nintendo Switch Has Content Only Through to “Mid-2017”

That said, they also confirmed they intend to add content to the Switch version via updates.

Payday 2 finally launched on the Nintendo Switch earlier this month after a fairly long wait- but there was a bit of a furore over it once it did release, when users realized that in terms of the content it had, it seemed to be lagging behind the other versions of the game by many months, nearing almost a year.

Starbreeze, the publisher of the game, has now confirmed that the Switch version of the game only has content through to “mid-2017”, which means we are looking at almost eight months of content and updates missing in the Switch version at a maximum.

That said, Starbreeze did confirm to Polygon that future updates, including content updates, are planned for the Switch version- hopefully, these should catch it up to at least the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the title (I can’t expect the console versions to ever be truly caught up with the PC version for this game at this point).
