Persona 5 is probably one of the greatest games ever made- but it owes all of its accomplishments to Persona 3, which pioneered the series’ now iconic social simulation meets dungeon grinding structure that Persona 4 and 5 would go on to improve.
Over the years, thanks to remakes and cross media spin-offs, Persona 4 has gone on to be played by many- but Persona 3, sadly, remains lost to a lot of players. The original game aged pretty badly, and is nigh on unplayable if you attempt to return to it after the later games in the series, while its two remakes each trade off some perks for other cons. Suffice it to say, one of the biggest demands the Persona fanbase has is for a full fledged, definitive Persona 3 remake.
This isn’t any evidence of that happening- but it’s interesting nonetheless. You see, Persona 5 has unused map data for the Iwatodai Dorm, the dorm that you stayed at in Persona 3. Its untextured and unused, and chances are was meant for an in game secret at some point more than hinting at some kind of Persona 3 remake in the works- but man, wouldn’t it be great if it was?
Persona 5 is out now on PS3 and PS4.
