Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth has one of the best openings in a series known for having great openings. It has a very striking sense of style, uses some fantastic imagery, and the song “Maze of Life” that it is set to is absolutely great. Living up to that would have been tough, and sure enough, Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth’s opening does not even come close to doing so.

The opening is out now, and you can watch it for yourself below. It mostly focuses on the protagonists of Persona 3, 4, and 5, and lacks a melody or a visual style as memorable as Persona Q’s opening had.

We also get, in the vein of the character introduction trailers that we have been getting for a while, new character introduction trailers for the protagonists of Persona 3, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4, and Persona 5 each—they’re pretty short, but it looks like they each captured the spirit of their respective characters very well.

You can check all of this out below for yourself. Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth launches exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS on November 28 in Japan (a western release date has not yet been announced).
