PlayStation Messaging App Out For iOS and Android Today

Now with Knack stickers.

Today’s update for the PlayStation app for iOS and Android came with a surprise- the PlayStation smartphone app would no longer allow users to message their friends. But before you grab your pitchforks, hold on- instead, Sony have gone ahead and released a brand new dedicated messaging app for iOS and Android, that will allow you to message users on your PSN friends list.

The dedicated app is far faster than the PlayStation app, which honestly is slow (to my knowledge, it’s not even a native app, but is instead just a webpage in a wrapper), and includes features like stickers. That said, one thing that I miss from the messaging option in the original app is the ability to select which friend you want to send a message to from a list, instead of having to type their name out- given that a lot of the times, we don’t even remember the user IDs of our friends, it’s a feature I personally miss.

Still, I’ll take it. You can download it from the App Store on iOS, and Google Play on Android phones.
