Pokemon X/Y Mewtwo Evolution Confirmed by New Animation Clip

The beast is back. And this time, he's evolved.

There was a lot of hype and hoopla over the past month when Game Freak showcased a mysterious new Pokémon that bore a strong resemblance to the first Pokémon Mewtwo. Rumours were also running rampant prior to this that Mewtwo was indeed back and ready to kick all kinds of ass.

Today, Nintendo releases a new animation clip that finally revealed the connection between Mewtwo and the strange new Pokemon. Simply put – what you see before you is the evolution of Mewtwo. No, no information yet on whether this is final form or not.

But again, it just raises all sorts of questions – why now? What has caused the evolution? What are Mewtwo’s new powers? More importantly, as an enemy of humanity throughout the years, whose side is Mewtwo on? And just where is the original Mew?

We guess we’ll find out when Pokemon X/Y releases in October later this year for Nintendo 3DS.
