Pre-loading is when you pre-order a game online, over, say, Steam, Xbox Live, PSN, or the nintendo eShop, and the store lets you download the game beforehand, so you can play it right as soon as it has officially released. The PS3 supported this, and Steam supports this, but consoles on the whole do not.
Well, the PS4 now does too, Sony announced on the PlayStation Blog. Quite a lot of games support this already (and hopefully more will- the feature wasn’t exactly widely used on the PS3, to be quite honest). You can check out the list of games below:
- Battlefield Hardline
- Battlefield Hardline Deluxe Edition
- Bloodborne
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
- Destiny
- Dragon Age: Inquisition
- Dragon Age: Inquisition Deluxe Edition
- Far Cry 4
- inFAMOUS First Light
- Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare
- LittleBigPlanet 3
- Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
- The Order: 1886
- Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Will you be making use of this feature, or do you still primarily buy physical copies at retail?
