It looks like Rockstar will be partnering with publishing label Random House to release a companion art book for their upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2, which would be a first for a game made by Rockstar. A listing for “The Art of Red Dead Redemption 2” has appeared on online retailer Amazon, and it seems pretty legit.

The listing describes the art book as “a peek behind the curtain of Rockstar Games and its intensely guarded approach to the creation of the lush, Old West open-world gameplay” and will include “storyboards and behind-the-scenes inner workings of the game’s creation, with a mix of detailed original art, concept, story, and character studies, sketches, and actual screengrabs of the end result that led to the creation of this spectacular game”. The description for the book also calls it “equal parts a collection of behind-the-scenes art of this epic adventure and a pictorial love letter to the western genre”.

Interestingly, the release date for the book is listed as October 31, which is only days after the game’s currently planned release date of October 26. Several fans have been concerned that the game might get delayed again, but if this information is anything to go by, that may not be the case after all. Additionally, as per RockstarINTEL, Amazon have confirmed that the listing for the product is legitimate, and that the release date mentioned is not a placeholder.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26, as mentioned above, for the PS4 and Xbox One. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
