Although Rockstar refuses to give a definitive statement on whether or not Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch on PC, there is a general expectation that it most likely, eventually will. While the original game never did, thanks to its code being a bit of a mess, the success of Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC, particularly GTA Online, more or less ensures Rockstar won’t want to miss on that gravy train this time around. Especially since Red Dead Redemption 2 has its own Red Dead Online component.
Now, there seems to be some evidence that a PC version of the game may in fact be real, and may come next year. Swedish retailer MediaMarkt has placed an online listing for a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2, with a December 31, 2019 release date (with the release date clearly being a placeholder). The listing is no longer available on the retailer’s website, but we’ve attached a screenshot of it below (via Segment Next). It’s unclear whether or not this is indicative of any concrete knowledge that they may have as to the game’s existence, but retailers have often been known to leak the existence of products before they are officially announced.
If you would rather not wait for the PC version of the game, Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26 for PS4 and Xbox One.
