Red Dead Redemption 2’s New Trailer Footage Was Captured on a PS4

If that's how it looks on a PS4, how might it look on an Xbox One X?!?

Rockstar finally broke their long silence on Red Dead Redemption 2 earlier today by giving us a new trailer to chew on. While the contents of that trailer, and whether or not they were enough after such a long wait, can still be up for debate, there is very little doubt that it looked absolutely gorgeous.

In fact, it looked so gorgeous that you would not have been remiss for wondering what platform the footage was captured on. And as it turns out, it was captured on a PS4. Sony confirmed as much in a tweet made on the official PlayStation account. Note that they did not specify whether this footage was from a PS4 or a PS4 Pro- but that in itself seems to suggest that it might have been from a standard PS4 system.

Nonetheless, if the game looks that good on a regular old PS4, just think about how good it might look on a PS4 Pro or an Xbox One X (or even PC, once it eventually makes its way over). I think people are going to be very happy with the tech powering Rockstar’s first true next gen effort.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is due to launch in Spring 2018 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
