“Right Now We’re Focused on the Long Term Future of Titanfall,” Says Titanfall Developer

You won't be hearing of that new Star Wars game for a while.

Titanfall 2 is one of the best, most creative shooters we’ve received in a long time. It was critically acclaimed, and while its sales performance suffered a bit due to a poor release window, its since managed to rally somewhat and recover. Respawn, meanwhile, insists that it is committed to the future of Titanfall for the foreseeable future.

Speaking on its website, Respawn posted, “Titanfall has always been and remains a huge part of our studio. With two highly-rated Titanfall games under our belts, we’re very proud of what we’ve made and the foundation we’ve laid for the franchise. Titanfall 2 remains healthy and growing with new players coming in every week. Right now we’re focused on the long term future of Titanfall and we’re excited about it. The core Titanfall team is working away on lots of cool stuff, whether that be DLC for Titanfall 2, action blocks and prototypes for future Titanfall projects, or other crazy science experiments. We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to take you, our Community, along for this ride.”

Respawn also assured their fans that future support, including free DLC, for Titanfall 2 will be forthcoming. So what of the new Star Wars game that they are supposed to be working on? They address that elephant in the room, too. “That project is still wrapped in secrecy and we won’t be talking about it for a while,” they said.

So that’s that. Titanfall 2 is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
