Rocksteady’s co-founders Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker will be leaving the studio at the end of this year. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment recently made the announcement on the studio’s official website, with president David Haddad saying that with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s development “nearly finished”, the two will be beginning “a new adventure gaming”- though specifics on that are currently unknown.

With Hill and Walker departing, Rocksteady’s leadership mantle will be taken up by Nathan Burlow – original founding member of the studio and Director of Production, who will serve as Studio Director going forward – and Darius Sadeghian, who will be the Studio Product Director.

Rocksteady has been in the midst of controversy in recent years, similar to a number of other studios in the industry, with allegations of its problematic workplace culture and practices – particularly where women are concerned – having emerged. In the aftermath of those issues, former Rocksteady writer Kim McAskill – who worked on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for several years – asked her name to be taken off the project entirely.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to launch sometime in Spring 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
