When it comes to the many classic cartoons of the late 1990s/early 2000s, one of the most interesting was always Samurai Jack. A unique concept married with a distinct art style created something truly special. It followed a samurai thrown into the far future who finds himself locked in battle with the mighty demon, Aku. The series was canceled abruptly, but actually got a revival a few years ago to tie up loose ends. Now, he’ll be returning to video games, too.
As announced via publisher Adult Swim Games, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time will come to all major platforms sometime in the summer. It will be an action-adventure game developed by Soleil, a developer made up of many former Team Ninja members. You can see the announcement trailer as provided via IGN below.
The game’s plot will actually tie into the series finale that came out a few years ago, and has involvement from Series Creator Genndy Tartakovsky and Head Writer Darrick Bachman. They will be at a PAX East panel on February 28th hosted by Adult Swim Games.
