It’s been quite the day for long awaited Samurai Shodown news. First, we finally got a date for the PC release date of the latest game in the series, simply titled Samurai Shodown. Now, after a long wait, we also got news and a date on when to expect the Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection.

The collection was originally announced over a full year ago, and nothing much had been said since. Now we know that the game will launch starting next month. On the PC front, it will launch on the Epic Games Store the same day as the latest game in the series. Not only that, it will actually be free that entire first week. The following week, it will then launch on Steam, and then in July will come the console launch (thanks to Gematsu for translating the press release from developer Digital Eclipse).

The collection will feature the entire mainline series that released on the original NeoGeo hardware. That includes Samurai Shodown 1-5, and all three different versions of 5, the 5 Special enhanced re-release that was the final game released for the NeoGeo, and the previously unreleased 5 Perfect that features a brand new story and character endings.

Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection will launch for Epic Games Store on June 11th, Steam on June 18th, and PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch on July 28th.
