For good or for bad, Ryse: Son of Rome has had a mountain of cynicism to contend with since its reveal at E3 earlier this year. Players have been leery of its style over substance approach to game design, and they have generally been pretty vocal in their hostility to the game. Now, they just got another reason to hate the game, as a Season Pass for the game’s DLC was just announced.

The DLC will only be for the game’s Arena mode and will not have anything to do with the single player story- with the Season Pass, players will get access to four map packs for the mode, in addition to exclusive weapons. The four map packs will add a total of fourteen maps, so the Season Pass is actually really good value for money at $19.99.

Ryse: Son of Rome, the Crytek developed Xbox One exclusive action game, launches with the console this November. Stay tuned for more coverage.
