See How Nintendo’s Official Case Puts The Switch In Tabletop Mode In Its Own Way

With a kick of the kickstand.

The Nintendo Switch is a hugely versatile console, a machine that can basically transform itself to be used in not one, not two, but three separate form factors- a portable handheld console, a stationary TV console, and a tabletop console. And it looks like the official Nintendo licensed Switch carry case actually accommodates the tabletop mode in a really unique way.

As GameXplain points out in this video (via Reddit), the Switch carry case almost functions like a cover for the iPad Pro, or Microsoft’s Surface (ironically, both also transformable tablets), and uses the cover itself to prop the Switch up upon a table. It’s a pretty novel solution, and it should let you play the Switch in tabletop mode without having to extricate it from its case.

The Nintendo Switch itself is due out worldwide on March 3, 2017. Currently, Nintendo’s newest system is selling or sold out in various degrees everywhere- could Nintendo have a hit on their hands? We are some months away from finding out.
