Sega Teases Sonic 2017 For SXSW Gaming

Please let this be good...

Sonic Mania may be the game that has everyone’s attention for now, but don’t forget about the unnamed 3D Sonic game that is due later this year, too. Coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch, the game is being helmed by the same development team that brought us Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations (also known as the only two good 3D Sonic games of all time).

So far, we haven’t actually heard much about the game- but Sega is promising that that will change. In a tweet, they are teasing that the game will be showing up at a panel at SXSW Gaming on March 16. Sega also shared some artwork for the game- you can see this below.

3D Sonic games can be hit or miss- honestly, far, far more misses than hits. But hey, this one seems to be headed by a team that has a good track record with 3D Sonic, so we’ll see how it turns out.
