Sega has a long list of classic dormant franchises that it is bringing back with revival projects, and closest to launch is Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. Developed by Streets of Rage 4 developer Lizardcube, the 2D sidescrolling action platformer has looked promising thus far, and Sega’s latest trailer continues that trend. Check it out below.

The trailer showcases Shinobi: Art of Vengeance’s gorgeous hand-drawn aesthetic in motion, as well as glimpses of its combat. You can also spot some of the abilities players can unleash against enemies, a variety of locations, traversal mechanics, and more. Based on the gameplay, fans of the long-dormant franchise seemingly have every reason to be optimistic about Shinobi’s return to the limelight.

Shinobi: Art of Vengance launches on August 29 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Those who purchase its Digital Deluxe Edition will get access to the game on August 26.
