SingOn

SingOn, the streaming based singing game for the PlayStation 3 that offers players access to thousands of songs from six decades of rock, pop, indie, dance and hip-hop classics, launches today in the UK; Sony has announced that the game will be a living, breathing service, as it will be updated weekly to include hits from the UK Top 20 Chart to make the most up-to-date parties around.

Keeping with that ‘party game’ feel, Sony has also announced TuneOn and RoboOn for the game, which are exactly what they sound like in that they allow you to adjust the pitch/modulation of your voice, and to autotune it, respectively, which should make for some even more fun drunk gaming sessions.

The game will feature a sleek, user-friendly design, themed-playlists, real-time scoring and star ratings, and to begin with, it will come with ten songs (with more available upon purchase of a timed pass):

  • Robbie Williams – Angels
  • Lady Gaga – Bad Romance
  • Michael Jackson – Black Or White
  • Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody
  • PSY – Gangnam Style
  • Bruno Mars – Just The Way You Are
  • Rihanna – Only Girl (In The World)
  • Adele – Someone Like You
  • Katy Perry – Teenage Dream
  • One Direction – What Makes You Beautiful

Whether SingOn replicates the success of Sony’s own SingStar remains to be seen.
