Mega Crit Games has announced the first major update to Slay The Spire 2, and it could become even harder to put down from the looks of it.
While the early access title’s first build managed some impressive sales numbers, there’s no denying that there was room for improvement. Fortunately, the studio has taken all of the feedback in the right spirit and implemented quite a few changes to a gameplay loop that has been able to surpass other popular rogue-lite titles with relative ease.
These include a new card for the Ironclad called “Not Yet,” which costs two energy, exhausts and heals 10(13) HP, and five new Relics to accompany a lot of balancing changes for other characters. There’s also improved controller support, fixes for crashes and disconnection issues, and a whole lot more in an extensive list of patch notes, which you can check out in its entirety here.
Of course, the studio has been quick to acknowledge that this is the first step in a long journey to the game’s final build, and notes that none of the changes you’re seeing are permanent. Still, they’re quite interesting to see, and we’re particularly happy about the fact that we can dive in with a controller now.
