Sega has announced in its newest earnings report that Sonic Frontiers has sold 2.9 million copies since its release in November. Along with Sonic Frontiers, a few other Sega games have also seen success, including the PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch release of Persona 5 Royal, which has sold 1.3 million copies.
It is worth noting that recent games like the multiplatform releases for Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden aren’t included in the earnings report, since they haven’t been out for long enough yet. Both games will likely be mentioned in the next report.
Sega had previously revealed that Sonic Frontiers had sold 2.5 million copies back in December. The game has seen a fair bit of success since its November release, and has since gotten quite a few updates, many being released for free.
More recently, the director behind Sonic Frontiers expressed interest in potentially removing the boost mechanic from the possible sequel to Sonic Frontiers.
Sonic Frontiers is available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. For more details, check out our review.
