Earlier this year, Sonic Mania was announced, and it looked like everything Sonic fans had ever wanted- the dream 2D sidescrolling Sonic sequel that fans have been awaiting ever since the original trilogy concluded on the Genesis. Then, Sega decided to capitalize on the game’s old school factor, with the amazing Collector’s Edition that they announced for it.
The caveat? At the time of announcement, that Collector’s Edition was only confirmed for North America, with no sign nor peep from Sega Europe about a European release of it. Given Sega’s horrible track record in Europe in the last few years, this led to fans speculating about the Collector’s Edition not being released in Europe at all.
Those fans can rest easy. Today, Sega confirmed that the Collector’s Edition will be launching in Europe, too. In fact, it is available to pre-order on Amazon UK right now, for £80. Sonic Mania is going to be launching in 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
