Sonic Mania, the upcoming 2D platformer from Sega that promises to be a full fledged return to the glory days of Sega’s spikey blue mascot, is almost here – it launches next month, at long last! – and at San Diego Comic Con, Sgea shared some new screenshots for the game, showcasing some of the special stages that will be in it.

You can check out the screenshot below, but that’s not all, either- there’s more Sonic Mania goodness, because a video for the game was also shared, sharing with us some of the music that will play during the special stages. If you are down for some 16-bit musical goodness, fire this video up- it’s the perfect blast from the past for Sonic‘s Genesis glory days, and the new tune captures the essence of the old music perfectly.

Sonic Mania is due out on the Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on August 15- will you be getting the game? Make sure to let us know in the comments section below.
