Sonic Mania PC Version Delayed

But Sega will give a free copy of the original Sonic game to anyone who pre-ordered the PC version.

Okay, guys- Sonic Mania, the retro 2D revival of classic Sonic, and what looks to be the best game in the series in over 20 years, is almost here. It launches on August 15- unless you are playing it on PC, that is. The PC version of the game has been delayed to two weeks later, for August 29.

The reason given for the delay is the development team’s desire to polish and optimize the game- presumably, they are unhappy with its quality right now and feel like it can be given one final push over the next two weeks. That said, to make up for the delay, anyone who has pre-ordered the PC version of the game will get a free copy of the original Sonic the Hedgehog.

For everyone else, however, there is nothing to worry about. Sonic Mania is still due out on August 15 for PS4, Xbox One, and for Nintendo Switch.
