A swiftly-deleted tweet by Sonic Team producer Joel Youkhanna seems to suggest that the racer will receive a new trailer at the imminent event.

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds

Sega unveiled Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds at The Game Awards in December with a brief teaser trailer, though a more extended look at the arcade racing title might be right around the corner.

Sony has announced a 40-minute-plus State of Play presentation for February 12, where Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds could also take the stage. Caught by Sonic Stadium, Sonic Team producer Joel Youkhanna dropped a tweet shortly after the event’s announcement, writing, “Oh look, a new State of Play. #knowingsmile”

The tweet was deleted promptly afterwards, though only after kicking speculation among fans into overdrive. Of course, if Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds does get shown off again, the big question will be whether Sega will announce a release date or window for the title, especially with the company’s short-term release schedule looking comparatively sparse after an insanely packed 2024.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
