Playing Oldies
What good is an old game on an old console if it simply sits there and doesn’t do anything for anyone? It’s good for a free download, that’s for sure. It would be interesting if Sony would open up its backlog of games from PSX and PS2 era as free downloads for PS Plus members on PS4. As stated by Sony executives themselves, PS4 is very “sparse” right now with games. And much like Xbox One’s incoming backwards compatibility, this would outdo even Microsoft.
Allowing free downloads of games stretching into the 20 year mark would really liven up the library and it gives Sony a chance to show what made them a special, dominate console selling company to begin with. PS3 members have been able to download much older games for free in the past, but now it’s time to share that love for PS Plus members on PS4.
