Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion

Splatoon 2‘s Octo expansion marks a first for the franchise in a lot of ways. This is the first time you’ll be able to play as an Octoling, the first time there has been paid DLC for the franchise that has historically dished out content for free, and first time there has been add-on single player content.

So naturally, it makes sense that many fans might not be clear on what exactly they should expect from the expansion, right? Thankfully, Nintendo has put out a new video which features an interview with Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami, who explains the inspiration for the expansion, and how they differentiated it from the existing game modes. He talks about how the expansion will have over 80 new stages (which is a lot!), and how the story will fit in with the rest of the game’s story. He also explains new Splatoon 2 stuff that isn’t specific to the expansion, such as X-Rank.

It sounds like it will be a hefty update all around. Splatoon 2 is available now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
