Nintendo’s fresh squid-kid shooter might have gotten a bit lost between all of their titanic releases in 2017, but the Ink keeps flying in Splatoon 2 as plenty of dedicated fans still keep playing it. Version 2.3.0 is now out, which applies a ton of changes to all aspects of the game, but they’re all more bug and exploit fixes rather than anything super substantial.
Multiplayer by far has the longest list of changes, but almost universally the patch notes involve fixing some kind of issue, usually a weapon or player clipping out of bounds or a weapon behaving oddly under some weird circumstances. Ranked battles should also see more considerate matchmaking with this patch, as well as a few issues with enemy behaviour in Salmon Run.
While it didn’t see the awards season attention that either The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Super Mario Odyssey did, Splatoon 2 is a huge game for Nintendo, being the first Switch game to cross 2 Million sold at retail in Japan. You can find the full patch notes here.
