Splatoon 2’s Latest Splatfest Sees Marina Score Her First Victory, As Team Fantasy Triumphs Over Team Sci-Fi

Marina finally snags a win.

Splatoon 2‘s latest Splatfest, the timed themed events that Nintendo holds for its multiplayer shooter monthly, challenging players to pick sides and then duke it out in favor of their chosen team, asked players the enduring question- which is better, fantasy or science fiction?

Science fiction was repped by Pearl, while fantasy was repped by Marina; in the past, Pearl, in spite of being decidedly less popular with the fanbase, has managed to win every single Splatfest (bar the pre-launch one). This time around, Marina finally comes out on top with a win, as Fantasy ended up winning the Splatfest overall, winning the popularity battle (57% of the votes), and solo battles (51% of the votes). Science fiction won in the team battles category, with 51% votes going their way.

So- Splatoon 2 has settled it. Fantasy is better than science fiction. I love both, but this is a position I can wholly get behind.
