Splatoon 2, Nintendo’s sequel to their breakout hit multiplayer third person shooter from 2015, is almost here. And ahead of its launch, Nintendo has released a brand new trailer for the game, challenging Switch owners to answer the call to battle.

Splatoon, of course, was a runaway hit on the Wii U- Nintendo’s whimsical take on the third person shooter genre took an ingenious mix of shooting and movement mechanics and crafted something deliciously fresh and compelling. But the success of the original game was ultimately capped by it being on the Wii U- on the Switch, Splatoon 2 should find far more success. It’s also now clear that Nintendo is very serious about fostering a proper competitive scene for Splatoon 2.

Splatoon 2 launches on the Nintendo Switch exclusively on July 21. Will you be getting the game? What do you think of the new trailer? Make sure to let us know in the comments section below.
