Square Enix talks 1080p for Murdered on Xbox One/PS4 and why there’s no Wii U version

'We're trying to be consistent across platforms.'

There are two things that happen a lot with multiplatforms games:

  • The Xbox One version is notably visually inferior (mostly because of a lower resolution)
  • The Wii U does not get a version of those games

With Murdered, one of these things is true. The other is not.

The one that is not true is the game being 1080p not just on the PlayStation 4, but also on the Xbox One. Speaking to Gamespot, Airtight Games had this to say about this surprising lack of discrepancy: We’re trying to keep a consistency across all the platforms.”

Both platforms will output the game in native 1080p, it was confirmed.

With the game also hitting the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the puzzling lack of a Wii U version made for an obvious question. Airtight’s response was refreshingly honest.

“In all honesty, all the Wii U games I’ve ever played, the only good ones are the ones that are made specifically for the Wii U. And this just doesn’t fit,” Airtight’s Matt Brunner said.

Which sounds more or less true, really.

Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage on the game.
