It looks like a trailer for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2, the sequel to DICE and EA’s reboot of the Battlefront franchise, has leaked early. The ad, which was obviously made as part of a co-branding deal with Sony (implying that PlayStation may have exclusivity rights to the game yet again, like in 2015), shows off what it claims is in engine footage of the game running in Frostbite on a PS4.
The graphics look great- but more important is the somber tone that the game attempts to strike. While it is hard to tell from just a 30 second spot, it looks like the game this time will have a campaign, with the game promising a look at a soldier’s ‘untold story’. More excitingly for Star Wars fans, it looks like this game will be set across all eras- which means that we don’t have to worry about being stuck in the original trilogy anymore. The sequel trilogy, prequels era, and original trilogy all appear to be fair game here.
From this trailer, things look very promising- can Star Wars Battlefront 2 make up for the general disappointment of the 2015 original game? We sure hope so. We will keep you posted on further developments.
